Collagen Induction Therapy
(Dermal Needling)

What is Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT)?
This revolutionary treatment, using micro needles, is a solution for clients who suffer from fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, hyper-pigmentation or stretch marks. This is not limited to the face! It can be done on the back of hands, decolletage, anywhere on the body in fact!

CIT works by promoting the natural collagen and elastin found within your body, to help make your skin feel tighter and smoother. The micro needles create microscopic punctures in the skin and does very little damage but means that the collagen production is sped up faster than other forms of treatment.

For ideal results, a series of 4 to 6 Collagen Induction Therapy treatments are recommended based on your individual needs. If you are treating more prominent skin imperfections, such as scarring, at least 5-7 treatments are generally required. Each treatment would be performed 6 weeks apart.
What can it help with?
- Reducing scars (including hypertrophic scars) caused   by acne, surgery or thermal burns
- Fading stretch marks
- Reducing fine lines and deep wrinkles
- Hyperpigmentation - Sun damage spots
- Tightening sagging skin
Benefits of Skin Needling
- Reduced risk of hyperpigmentation and scarring
- Suitable for thin and sensitive skin
- The procedure is well tolerated and well accepted
- It is cost-effective, and can be done on areas of skin not suitable for peeling or laser resurfacing, such as near eyes.
- As opposed to ablative laser resurfacing, the epidermis remains intact and is not damaged.
- Minimal to no discomfort
- You can resume regular activities within a few days, depending on the depth of penetration of the needles. Treatment options         like laser resurfacing or dermabrasion are often associated with considerable downtime from daily activities of the client post-   treatment period.
What is the Process?
Collagen Induction Therapy is a non-surgical treatment. We start by cleaning the skin and applying a numbing cream for about 20-30 minutes. Some do not feel a thing and we endeavor to make any discomfort minimal , we like to make sure that our patients are as comfortable as possible.

Once this is complete, each area of the skin is treated about 15 to 20 times, going vertically and horizontally across the skin in a circular motion with Hydrafix (B Vit Complex with Hyaluronic Acid) or Hyaluronic Acid serum.

The actual treatment itself can take up to 45 minutes, so we recommend that patients allow about 90 minutes for a complete appointment from start to finish.  Your face will look flushed or "sunburnt" for 2-3 days after but will not effect you in getting on with your day to day life.  You will receive aftercare serums to sooth and hydrate your skin.

Once you leave, you should refrain from touching or rubbing your face, avoid makeup or other skin lotions/creams with (except for our post treatment gel), avoid spray tan products, and avoid sun exposure for 12-24 hours.
How Long Does it Take to See Results?
Within the first week of treatment you could begin to see your skin peeling which helps to lighten the pigmentation or scarring, and can help the skin look more hydrated, however the overall results will be more gradual over a 6-8 week period.

Collagen re-production does not happen instantly, which means that results will appear gradually throughout the course of the overall treatment schedule. Each time that a new treatment is complete the improvements will begin to be more noticeable. Because of this, it is important to keep the skin moisturized and follow through with the full schedule of treatments recommended by your clinician.
