How do I prepare for treatment?
A free consultation is required to discuss the level of energy and number of treatments which best match your goals.
We advise all of our resurfacing patients use our skincare system starting 14-30 days before your treatment. Pre-treating with this system will clear non-functioning collagen and impurities and prepare your skin for optimal results. Continuing after treatment will minimize downtime and promote results.
When you come to your appointment, please do not wear makeup. Men should shave. Moisturize your skin. No contact lenses to be worn during treatment so better to wear glasses instead if treating the eye area. Bring a clean hat and sunglasses to protect your delicate skin on the way home.
How long does treatment take?
Treatment times may vary, depending on the individual application, the thickness of the skin, and client's sensitivity. 45 to 60 minutes is generally required to treat the entire face. Treatments may be as short as five to ten minutes for smaller areas.
Post-treatment care or downtime?
You’ll leave our office with pink or red skin, protected and we will give what you'll need to apply on your skin. Depending on the strength of the treatment, and how well your skin is previously conditioned, the downtime will vary. You may get redden skin a like to a sunburn as well as a browning effect which will disappear within a 4 to 10 days. Other possible side effects will be covered during your complimentary consultation as these are dependent on the area treated and power level used. With higher energy treatments, skin may peel for several days after the treatment.
You can return to your normal daily routine immediately after treatment as there’s no medical care needed. Social downtime is more a preference of each individual and how comfortable you may feel in public with skin that may be darker or shedding.
Depending on the area being treated, the condition of your skin, and desired outcome, expect 1-4 treatments (dependent on skin and response), usually 4-6 weeks apart.
